To make a request under the Access to Information Act or the Privacy Act:
- In order to help requestors find government records and determine where to send their requests, the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act require each government institution subject to the two Acts to describe the nature of their records in InfoSource.
- Fill out a request form (which can be found at the following sites Access to Information Request Form (TBC/CTC 350-57) (PDF) and/or Personal Information Request Form (TBC/CTC 350-58) (PDF) or submit the request in your own language (using the form is not mandatory);
- submit it in writing to the Access to Information and Privacy Coordinator of the appropriate institution
- for Access to Information Act requests, enclose a $5.00 money order or cheque payable to the Receiver General for Canada (other fees may be applicable)
