Gala

For the past 65 years, the Canadian Conference of the Arts has worked to promote the interest of the arts, culture and heritage sector in Canada.  To commemorate this milestone, on November 1, 2010, we will host a Gala dinner at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. This will be an opportunity to reflect on the CCA’s accomplished history, celebrate our successes and thank all of our dedicated supporters. The Gala will take place from 6:30 pm to 9 pm.

Actor and director Paul Gross will be the Gala’s keynote speaker. Gross is internationally known for his role as Constable Benton Fraser on the multi award- winning drama television series Due South, a role that earned him two Gemini Awards for Best Actor. Gross has been involved with a number of film and television projects including Men with Brooms, H2O, The Trojan Horse, Cra$h & Burn and Gunless, among others. He also wrote, directed, co-produced and starred in Passchendaele, the highest grossing Canadian film of 2008.

During the Gala, the CCA will also present its annual awards. Françoise Sullivan and Joyce Zemans will be presented with the Diplôme d’honneur. Robert Jekyll and Maurice Forget will receive the Keith Kelly Award for Cultural Leadership.
