Artists: Powering the Creative Economy? - a unique opportunity for organizations and individuals within the arts, culture and heritage community to connect and engage in exciting collaborative discussions and debates.
The conference seeks to investigate the shape of the evolving global economy and the roles played by Canadian artists within this innovative ecology. High-profile speakers and panelists will spark dialogues concerning the policies needed to ensure that Canada will be a leading player in this ever changing creative economy .
The conference will also include an Emerging Thinkers Speed Speaker Series, providing young leaders in the arts and culture sector with an opportunity to present their vision for the artist within the creative economy.
The conference will kick off with a Gala dinner on November 1 to celebrate the Canadian Conference of the Arts’ 65th anniversary.
Acclaimed Canadian actor and director Paul Gross will be the gala's keynote speaker. During the gala, the CCA will also present its annual awards, recognizing members of Canada's cultural community who have made significant contributions to the growth and vitality of the arts and culture in this country.
