    The mine began about 1910, when a vein of quartz carbonate a few feet wide was discovered. In places, large amounts of chalcopyrite could be found, on the surface or underground.

    In 1968 an addition of about 200 feet was put in by Dondol Mines Limited. A small mill was also built, and all of the necessary equipment was brought in, but apparently it soon ceased to operate because of financial problems. There is no recorded production from the mine.

    This is a recent picture of the inside of the mine. The icicles protruding from the ground are called stalagmites.
