Musical tour stops in Calgary
By KEVIN MARTIN

The Calgary Sun, May 10, 1992

Calgarians likely will get an unexpected treat this week when the 125 member Experience Canada
troupe performs at the Olympic Plaza. Group spokesman Ed Roberts said plans are m the
works to have the group perform an impromptu concert when it visits Calgary Wednesday.
"There are a couple of details to iron out, but I'm pretty sure it's ready to go," he said last night.
The group of 18 to 25 year olds is on a four month, nationwide tour performing the musical Spirit of a Nation as part of the Canada 125 celebration.

Among the troupe's 'members are 12 Albertans and three Calgarians, Roberts said.
Members come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and represent every province and territory, he said.

The former chairman of the opening and closing ceremonies at the Calgary Olympics said the group had an additional Calgary connection its choreographer performed the same task for the opening of the 1988 Games. Jacques Lemay and his wife Janis Dunning are the creators, co producers and directors of
Spirit of a Nation. "They have assembled a wonderful team," Roberts said.

He said the troupe has between 60 and 70 scheduled performances including a return date in Calgary Aug. 21 at a Stampeder football game.
Roberts said the show starts at 12:15 p.m.

Le groupe Expérience Canada était à I'Escale jeudi dernier.
