The Canadian College of Performing Arts is a
one year (September-May) intensive certificate program developed in response
to demand for more of the outstandingly successful training offered through
Spirit of a Nation. Selected students may be eligible to enrolled for
the second year Enriched Performing Arts Certificate after successfully
completing their first year of studies.
Expert instruction is offered in the comprehensive skills required for
a stage or screen career as a singer, actor, dancer and/or in Musical
Theatre. Currently, there is no one year college feeder programme in Canada
offering the full complement of studies in acting, singing, dancing and
musical theatre like the Canadian College of Performing Arts. The principals
of the college, Jacques Lemay and Janis Dunning, are highly respected
professionals in the field of performing arts in all of the crucial areas
of production, training and fiscal responsibility. They offer a broad
scope of studies led by seasoned professional instructors which will prepare
students for versatility and longevity in the entertainment industry.
Students are given instruction at international performance standards
in order to give them every advantage in seeking jobs in Canada or around
the world. Classes are offered in an intensive one year program at the
college level. Instruction is tailored to meet the needs of high school,
university or college graduates.
Mission Statement
To offer quality training in a broad spectrum of skills which will prepare
the students for careers in the performance arts locally, nationally or
internationally.
To provide a stimulating, positive and constructive environment where
students are encouraged
to develop high standards of work ethics and conduct which will serve
them in any field of
endeavour in the future.
