1946 Employees strike at Steel Company of Canada Limted (Stelco) (July 15 - October 2)
1946 Hamilton Street Railway assets sold to a private syndicate by Ontario Hydro (September 16)
1947 The Peller Brewing Company factory on Burlington Street and Ferguson Avenue is opened (May)
1948 Susan Shoe Industries Limited is founded
1948 The "longest labour dispute in Canadian history" ends at National Steel Car Company (May 1)
1948 Austin Motor Car Company makes plans to open a factory in Hamilton (August)
1948 The first Studebaker of Canada car is built in Hamilton (August 18)

1954 Brading Breweries Limited purchases the assets of Peller Brewing Company Limited (March)
1955 Mercury-Chipman Knitting Company goes out of business
1957 D. Moore and Company acquired by Happy Thoughts Foundry; operations moved to Brantford, Ontario
1958 The Studebaker-Packard partnership dissolves; return to Studebaker of Canada Corporation
