Philips Family Home |

The first post office was located
at Rainbow. It is now in the Whistler Village Marketplace. |

The first school was built down on
the shores of Alta Lake. The present-day school, called Myrtle Philip
Elementary School, is located on Lorimer Road. |

Trains |

Trains used to be the primary means
of transportation to Alta Lake. Today, the trains still run to Whistler
daily but most travellers prefer to use the Sea to Sky Highway. |

During the pioneer days, Rainbow Lodge
was the prime destination for travellers coming to Alta Lake. Today,
travellers head to Whistler Village, located at the base of Whistler
and Blackcombe mountains, where there is a large number of hotels,
restaurants, shops and other amenities for tourists. |
