Developing Attitudes


Developing attitudes is something that will come by experiencing sites such as this one and others like it. It is important that students are educated with facts when they are making decisions about other people’s tradition, lifestyles and values. The People of Southern Alberta covers a few groups that are not always seen as a majority in Lethbridge. Below is an activity that works on encouraging the appreciation of different cultures.

APPRECIATION OF DIFFERENT CULTURES

The changes that happened in the southern Alberta region brought many new people to the Lethbridge area. What are the benefits of having people from different cultures settle an area together? What problems arise from it?

So think it is important to recognize and respect the people that settled the Lethbridge region?

Do you think in our present day it is as important, less important or more important that members from various ethnic groups play an active role in the develop of Lethbridge and surrounding are

Do you think that the bringing together of various cultures allow Lethbridge (or Alberta) to develop into society today that is still made up of diverse ethnic groups ?

Are there long term/short term economic benefits to having a society made up from various nations?

How do you react when you meet someone else from a different culture?

How do you feel about their desire to retain their culture from their own country?

What can you do to help new immigrates to Lethbridge to feel more accepted?

Do you think it is necessary for people settled here to make the first attempt to socialize?

Why/why not?
