Janay B. Nugent

My involvement in the project has a personal component as I grew up in the southern Alberta community of Coaldale. I enjoy travelling, history, horseback riding, and reading. I would like to say hello to my supportive family Mom, Dad, Kevin, Kathy, Stephanie, Samantha, Craig, Angela, Amy, Blake and Jason.

I convocated with distinction in May 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Currently I am working on a Master's Degree in History at the University of Guelph. My thesis work is on domestic servants in seventeenth-century Scotland. I also have interests in many other areas of history and have been fortunate enough to Graduate Teacher Assist courses in the History of Women and Popular Culture and the Witch-Hunt, 1500-1800. A summer employment term at The Sir Alexander Galt Museum has also served to broaden and intensify my historical interests.

This Industry Canada SchoolNet Digital Collections project has been instrumental in providing me with what I feel are vital tools in today's job market. This includes the preparation of proposals, managerial abilities, and technical skills.
