1. The Good Earth Invention. Invent something that will solve one of the Earth's major problems. Include scale drawings, a description, a scale model (if possible) and a full marketing plan for the invention.

    2. The Good Earth Campaign. Choose a topic that you feel strongly about and develop a full-blown public awareness campaign to help motivate people to cooperate and do something about the problem. The elements of this campaign might include the following: a poster, newsletter, print, billboard, radio, and/or television advertising, special events, multimedia and the Internet. Create the artwork, copy, mock-ups, demo radio and TV spots etc. Assign tasks to members of the group, plan a launch party to publicize the campaign.

    3. Living Easy. Make a list of all the appliances and electronics that you use over the course of a day. Don't forget lights, cars, can openers and the TV. Decide how many of these are necessary for you to survive. Try to go 24 or 48 hours while continuing your normal activities without using any artificial energy and appliances. Can you do it? What were the items (if any) that you could not do without?

Present the final projects to the rest of the class, the school and invited guests. Generate a discussion about the Earth's problems and how we, as individuals and a community, can make a difference. We've got to start somewhere. Take the discussion out to the community, invite local media to cover the event. Generate as much coverage as possible.
