The Government is committed to strengthening its relationship with Aboriginal peoples who face unique economic, social and health challenges. We will support First Nations communities in strengthening governance, and will work to ensure that basic needs are met for jobs, health, education, housing and infrastructure.

April 2001 - The Aboriginal Canada Portal - The Portal has over 7,500 links to information for and about Aboriginal people in Canada.

February 9, 2001 - Long-Term Response to Marshall - The Federal Government’s long-term strategy to address the Supreme Court’s 1999 Marshall decision and build a sustainable treaty relationship with Aboriginal communities through fishing arrangements.
