(Continued)

Have you noticed that Ginette Anfousse has traced a very thin black line around each part of her picture? That's a good trick for drawing shapes because, if you draw a white object on a white background, the two can blend into one another. A good example are the puffy sleeves on Jojo's blouse. If you look closely, you will see that the sleeves also have small shadows or little folds drawn in pencil. That's the same pencil that Ginette Anfousse used to do her sketches. But you have to admit that colour makes the picture look quite different!

Speaking of colours, you could say that the picture on the last page gives you a real eyeful! There are probably more colours than there are characters. Can you tell if there is still some pencil-work in this picture?

Even if Jojo is not in this picture, except on the portrait on the wall, she is still there. First, there's her voice that says, "So you see, Pichou, SCHOOL isn't so complicated… Now do you want me to tell you what's going to happen TOMORROW?" She is talking to Pichou, but she is also teaching. Jojo would be on our side of the picture, where the schoolteacher would be. Maybe that's why everyone is so well behaved! Her very-small-baby-aardvark-who-really-eats-ants has grown quite a bit. And he is sitting at his desk, just like a big kid, just like Jojo when she goes to school!

Here, Jojo plays at being the teacher. Maybe she is also drawing or taking a group picture! If you think about it a bit, you'll realize that Jojo is looking at this picture with you.
