Katherine Pang

Dr. Pang has a PhD in educational psychology as well as a Masters in
Psychology, a Masters in Educational Technology, an MBA, and two law degrees.
Dr. Pang has conducted four empirical studies that are currently out for review for publication in various academic journals pertaining to cognition and teaching. In
addition, Dr. Pang has recently published an article in The International Journal of
Learning on comparing Sophist versus Socratic methods of teaching and The Journal of Interactive Instruction Development on Blended Learning.
Dr. Pang has served as an
adjunct faculty member at a variety of universities in both graduate and undergraduate programs since 1985, prior to joining the University of Texas at Tyler in 2007. Dr. Pang
is in the Department of Social Sciences at the UT Tyler and teaches courses in Criminal Justice, such as Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Evidence, Law and Society, Judicial Policy, Administrative Law, and Administrative Ethics. Dr. Pang is concentrating significant research efforts on the effects of metacognition on learning and teaching, assessing learning and teaching effectiveness, and pedagogy and instructional design in a
variety of cognate fields.
Dr. Pang is a member of numerous professional associations and is a reviewer for The International Journal of Learning as well as for several education-oriented conferences, such as CELDA.
Dr. Pang has over 15 years of experience in the design, development and delivery of educational courses and professional development and training content. She has been
the CEO and Founder of three companies in the field of applied skills, active learning both in an ILT, CBT and Web-Based environment.
Dr. Pang has served as an SME for over 65 business and law-related courses and her extensive experience in instructional design and curricula development and has produced over 150 courses as well as entire programs of instruction for major universities, through EdWay Online, Inc.
In addition, Dr. Pang serves in a consulting capacity for various institutions and organizations in
designing and developing curricula, adopting new technologies, integrating technology with instruction and implementing training and professional education programs.
Dr. Pang’s varied background has allowed her to work as a lawyer, and educator, an entrepreneur, a researcher, and an innovator. Dr. Pang has published 6 books and
numerous articles in the legal field. Dr. Pang’s exhaustive passion for education is evident from her 8 graduate degrees and her contributions to teaching and fostering
applied skills learning. Dr. Pang’s research interests are centered in metacognition, cognition and instruction, and e-learning.
Dr. Pang also has over 20 years of
entrepreneurial and operational experience in professional services, manufacturing and education oriented companies and has served as CEO/CFO/CKO and COO for several
manufacturing, transportation and logistics e-learning and professional services companies.
Dr. Pang has been a speaker at numerous e-learning, professional, and academic conferences.
