Theo J. Bastiaens is full professor at and director of the Institute for Educational Science and Media Research of the Fernuniversität in Hagen, Germany. The FernUniversität is a distance teaching university, its
curriculum covers German language based (first-)degree programmes which mainly lead to a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.
Next to this he is part-time professor of Educational Technology at the Open University of the Netherlands
