Winner's Press Release
  1. The author must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant.
  2. The title must be the author's first book of poetry, and have been published in 2006. (Chapbooks are not eligible.)
  3. The title must conform to the UNESCO definition of a book, that is at least 48 pages in length, excluding front and back material.
  4. A book may be submitted in any language, but submissions in a language other than English must be accompanied by a translation.
  5. Four copies of the book must be submitted by the publisher, author or other nominator. We regret that books cannot be returned.
  6. A brief biography and bibliography of the author should be included.
  7. All submissions must be post-marked no later than November 1 and should be sent to The League of Canadian Poets, 920 Yonge Street Suite 608, Toronto, ON M4W 3C7, Attention: Gerald Lampert Memorial Award.
    Please note: Books which are in the process of being published and which will be released in November and December of 2006 (after the Nov. 1 deadline) can be submitted late up to December 15th, however; please contact the League's office as soon as possible to inform us of your situation. After December 15th at 5:00pm, no further entries will be accepted.
  8. The judges retain the right not to award the prize if, in their opinion, no entry is of sufficient merit.
  9. There is a $15 handling fee per title. Please make cheques payable to the League of Canadian Poets.
