About this report

The Long Term Vision and Plan Annual Report for fiscal year 2015 to 2016 documents the significant work that has been undertaken and the major milestones that have been achieved in advancing the Long Term Vision and Plan (LTVP).

Developed as a long-term strategy to guide future development in the Parliamentary Precinct and address changing priorities, the LTVP is reviewed and updated regularly and is supported by a comprehensive implementation framework.

This annual report details progress overall, outlines project accomplishments, provides a full picture of how the funds invested in the LTVP have been spent, and demonstrates that this investment has provided good value for money in achieving the objectives that are important to Canadians. It includes only those projects in the current five-year program of work (fiscal years 2013 to 2018) that are approved and funded. Remaining elements of the LTVP are subject to adjustment and are not approved or funded.

The Long Term Vision and Plan section of this annual report outlines what the LTVP is, why it is important and how it is delivered.

The year in review section details LTVP outcomes in fiscal year 2015 to 2016, outlining the performance of each LTVP program component and individual projects. Performance is also tracked against a series of performance metrics that enable the Parliamentary Precinct Branch (PPB) to assess and monitor the overall health of the LTVP and highlight the overall benefits of the program to Canadians.

The financial reporting section provides a series of financial analyses on program and project expenditures for fiscal year 2015 to 2016.

The annexes section provides additional program and project information including project sheets for key major capital projects and LTVP risk management assessment strategies.

The LTVP annual report is a component of Public Services and Procurement Canada's commitment to openness, transparency and accountability in achieving the objectives of the LTVP. It is posted on the Department's website to reduce paper consumption and give all Canadians the opportunity to follow the progress of the LTVP and learn about the important work being undertaken to restore Canada's Parliament Buildings.
