Whether you are purchasing a single printer or configuring a whole fleet, these new standing offers provide outstanding value and ease of use.

• Aggressive everyday pricing: suppliers must keep prices within 20% of the best value printer in order for their printer to be “Active” and available for call-up.
• Tiered pricing allows you to realize volume purchasing power without the extra administrative procedures of Request for Volume Discount (RVD).
• Higher call-up limitations – up to $400,000 – and the possibility of doing call-ups across several sub-categories to achieve the aggregate Best Value.
• Best Value is based on whole life costing including consumables and optional warranty protection up to four years.
• Best-in-class environmental characteristics like packaging, consumables recycling, Energy Star qualification, duplexing and Ecologo (or equal) certification are built right in.

How to Order

NMSO series EZ107-060001/XXX/VAN expired on February 16, 2011. Those agreements have been replaced by the new agreements, series EZ107-1000002/XXX/VAN with a start date of February 17, 2011.

This series of standing offers for Desktop and Network Printers will be in place for up to three years and is a mandatory usage method of supply. This means that all printers must be purchased using these standing offers unless an exception is approved by the Standing Offer Authority. Local Purchase Orders should not be used to circumvent use of the NMSOs (and standing offer suppliers will be advised that they should not accept them).

The new standing offers have been structured a little differently from the preceding series and therefore the following information is provided for your guidance.

Question:

How do I buy a printer using the NMSOs?

Answer:

Go to the NMSO Products and Prices page and pick an ACTIVE listed printer.

Once you've selected an ACTIVE printer , determine the value of your requirement for the appropriate order size tier, including Goods and Services Tax (GST) (using the listed NMSO prices). If your requirement is valued at $25K or less (incl. GST), while we recommend that you select the best value product in the applicable order size tier, you may issue a Call-up (PWGSC 942 form) (PDF, 140KB) (only accessible to Government of Canada employees) for any listed ACTIVE product to an authorized NMSO dealer.

If your requirement is valued at more than $25K (incl. GST), you may issue a Call-up of:

• Up to $400K (incl. GST) for the Best Value product by order size tierin Category 1 or Category 2; and,
• Up to $200K (incl. GST) for the Best Value product by order size tierin Category 3 or Category 4.
• The printers are listed in order from the one for which it has been determined offers the Best Value, downwards.

Certain listed printers appear as INACTIVE; this is because the printers do not offer adequate value to the Crown. Our determination of value includes a total cost of ownership evaluation (including consumables costs) and third-party independent benchmark testing which considers the product's performance, quality usability and features. Offerors have a chance to reduce their pricing at the end of each calendar month, and therefore printers that are currently INACTIVE, may become ACTIVE (and vice versa).

If you require a printer that is not listed, or is INACTIVE, provide me with a justification as to why no NMSO listed ACTIVE printer will do the job (and we will review the merits of your justification).
