Practical Tools for the 21st Century

“We now have an extraordinary array of communications tools for building a gender-fair world. We can reach out to each other anytime of the day or night with voice-mail, e-mail, Internet, and fax.... There is no reason for anyone who is working for equity not to have practical tools and support for gender-fair learning. We’re only a phone call, an e-mail, a web search away.”

Using the Checklist

Determine whether young women in your school or School-to-Work system or program have meaningful access to training opportunities for high-wage, high-skill careers. Dispel myths about women and non- traditional careers. Make certain that young women can take advantage of these opportunities. Develop strategies to address barriers to equal opportunity and promote gender equity.
