The Network of East-West Women

The Network of East-West Women (NEWW) links women across national and regional boundaries to share resources, knowledge and skills. NEWW’s mission is to empower women and girls throughout the East (Central and Eastern Europe, and NIS and the Russian Federation) and the West by dialogue, networking, campaigns, and educational and informational exchanges. NEWW supports action and joint projects inspired by feminist principles.
NEWW’s overarching goal is to support the formation of independent women’s movements. Its primary objective is to increase the capability of women and women’s NGOs to intervene effectively on policy regarding women’s lives. Thus, NEWW’s members have agreed upon a set of common principles emphasizing the importance of women’s full participation in all aspects of public life.

Donations to Kosovo Women’s Fund

The Kosovo Women’s Fund directly supports local women’s leadership, who bring local knowledge and expertise to this grave crisis. The Fund will give encouragement and financial support to three groups now in Macedonia who have the ability to reach a significant number of women and their families. The Kosovo Women’s Fund may also support the work of experienced women’s organizations in neighboring countries, who may be asked to provide technical support on war-related trauma services for women and families.
The fund will direct financial support to:
- The Center for the Protection of Women and Children
- basic medical care, family support services,
and human rights counsel for women and children in Kosovo
- Motrat Qiriazi and the Rural Women’s Network
- education, literacy, health, and employment in small villages in Kosovo

The Media Project
- media and information centers in Macedonia.
"Funds will be forwarded to the STAR Network/World Learning office in Skopje, Macedonia.
Virtually 100% of the contributions will support the Kosovo Women’s Fund and modest local costs."
