The PHI is co-ordinated by the Health Analysis and Measurement Group (HAMG) of Statistics Canada and the Policy Research Unit (PRU) of the Public Health Agency of Canada. The coordinating centres oversee the day-to-day activities of the PHI through four working groups: Health State Preferences Working Group, Data Management Working Group, Microsimulation Working Group, and Dissemination Working Group.
The Health Analysis and Measurement Group of Statistics Canada provides overall management of the PHI to ensure that all activities and products are consistent with the objectives of the research program. HAMG team leaders and analysts assume responsibility for most of the methodologic aspects of the PHI, in particular, microsimulation modeling.
The Policy Research Division of the Public Health Agency of Canada ensures the policy relevance of the PHI and encourages communication both within the Public Health Agency of Canada and with the Policy Advisory Committee. PRU team leaders and policy analysts contribute data management and subject matter support.
