CRIS has developed a series of pathfinders to guide our clients towards the valuable information available for rural Canadians.

    This pathfinder helps to inform rural residents and communities about the issues, options and initiatives in rural child care across Canada.
  • Community Safety Pathfinder Updated
    The focus of this pathfinder is on community policing and crime prevention programs and resources for rural and remote communities of Canada.
  • Entrepreneurship and Opportunities for Rural Youth
    The audience for this pathfinder is rural Canadian youth who are interested in becoming entrepreneurs. It provides information on associations and organizations, funding and scholarships programs and government youth employment programs.
  • Farm Stress
    The resources listed in this pathfinder cover topics such as farm income support, farm management and succession planning - all potential sources of stress for farmers and their families. Also included are links to information sheets on how to recognize and cope with stress and telephone numbers for Stress Help Lines.

    This pathfinder serves as a source of literacy information for learners and educators. It focuses on literacy resources available to those who reside in rural and remote areas of Canada.

    This pathfinder aims to help rural Canadian entrepreneurs who want to finance a small business and who have had trouble finding credit from the traditional sources.
  • Non-profit outcomes evaluation New
    Non profit organizations often need to measure the value of the service they provide and to evaluate their community impact. This pathfinder highlights a selection of resources for program evaluation with an emphasis on outcome measurement tools.
  • Recruitment of Doctors for Rural and Remote Areas
    This pathfinder provides information to assist rural and remote communities in the recruitment of doctors. It includes provincial and territorial government recruitment programs and a bibliography on the practice of rural medicine.

    This pathfinder highlights sources of tourism information to help plan a vacation to rural and remote regions of Canada.

    Volunteers, charitable organizations and non-profit groups play an important role in rural communities. This pathfinder contains resources of interest to volunteers and voluntary groups.
  • Writing Funding Proposals
    The Writing Funding Proposals pathfinder provides references to web sites and to print sources with useful information on how to write a proposal when applying for funding from a private or public organization.
