Introduction

Lake Trout, Wakomata Lake, 1948, photo courtesy of Kay Clinton. The Mississagi River Valley has long been considered a fisherman's haven. Among the hundreds of lakes and rivers in the area are numerous species of fish which can be caught in all their plentiful goodness. However this goodness will not last for ever, we must obey the laws and show some respect to all fish. Re-stocking programs have been introduced, and fish sanctuaries have been made which prohibit any angling activities in these lakes. Fishing is a fun and enjoyable pastime for any and all ages and hopefully you can help us keep it that way.
