Description 1 Description 2 Description 3

The kiddush cup is an integral part of the kiddush blessing, which is recited over wine or bread at the opening of Shabbat and on other holidays. Prior to the blessing, the cup is filled with wine. Once the blessing has been said (usually it is said by the head of the family) everyone drinks from the cup.
