James Bay Inn was once St. Mary's Priory, a home for seniors run by Roman Catholic Sisters. In Feburary of 1945, due to Emily's deteriorating health, the decision was made to move Emily from Alice's house to the Priory. The Priory lay close enough from Alice's house to enable her to visit Emily twice a day. This is where Emily spent the last days of her life before her passing on March 2, 1945 at the age of 74.
