ConclusionIn order to maintain jobs for thousands of British Columbians and protect natural habitat for wildlife, mining companies, the governments and the public work together to preserve the natural beauty and healthy environment within the province. Although mining operations create large areas of disturbed land, this is only a transitory use of the land. This means that they will only disrupt the land for a short period of time before returning it to its natural state. This is very different from the permanent highways and cities that we build.8 |
