Assabaska was originally comprised of a these bands: Little Grassy River 35E-1 Little Grassy River 35E-2 Sabaskong Bay 35C Sabaskong Bay 35D Sabaskong Bay 35F Sabaskong Bay 35H Big Grassy Naongashing 35A Obabikong 35B Big Grassy River 35G Lake of the Woods 35J A major portion of the Assabaska band was not confirmed by the Ontario Government in 1915. The remaining portions of land which initially comprised the reserve was sold in 1958. The remaining band members moved to the Big Grassy Reserve and Sabaskong Bay Reserve.
