The City of Dryden is located in Northwestern Ontario on the main line of the Canadian Pacific Railway and astride the
Trans-Canada Highway #17. Dryden is in the centre of Canada, half-way between Thunder Bay and Winnipeg.
The surrounding terrain is rolling and forested. There are many beaches and a number of rivers and lakes in the area. Dryden is situated on Wabigoon Lake and the Wabigoon River.   Dryden resides within the Northwest Angle Treaty of 1873 - Treaty No. 3.
