Geraldton was originally established mainly as a mining town but now incorporates much more. For example to pulp and paper
industry and tourism. The tourist industry attracts the outdoor enthusiast with a wealth of hunting and fishing opportunities which
include well stocked lakes ie. walleye, speckled trout, and lake trout. There are opportunities for the avid hunter with packages
available. In the Geraldton area you would most likely catch moose, bear, wild foul and other small game. The service industry
for the area includes a police station, a hospital, post offices, a library, a rec center and municipal offices as well as many other
services. Geraldton also has primary and secondary schooling, there are also separate schools. If you have a chance you might
want to visit Geraldton's gold mines which are now open to the public. Campers are welcome to stay in the beautiful McLeod
Park on Lake Kenogamissis. There is a newly developed waterfront area that invites you into this town. Geraldton will always be a wonderful place to visit where you will have fun and feel welcome in this little town with a heart of gold.
