The Towns of Kenora, Keewatin and Jaffray Melick are located on the northeast quadrant of
scenic Lake of the Woods, being Ontario's second largest inland lake, the communities are
approximately 116 km east of the geographic centre of Canada and 222 km north of the
Canadian/U.S. border. Keewatin is also known as the Western Gateway to the Lake of
the Woods. Keewatin is situation within the Northwest Angle Treaty of 1873 - Treaty
