The Ojibway people of Lac La Croix inhabited the general area of the present location.
Lac La Croix signed the Northwest Angle Treaty of 1873 - Treaty No. 3 with the
government. The members of Lac La Croix moved from the Indian settlement at Kawa Bay
to a reserve at Neguaguon Lake in 1910. In 1913, the Ontario government created
Quetico Provincial Park. Within the park's boundaries, the reserves of Lac La Croix
and Stugeon Lake were also located. Stugeon Lake was aborbed into the Provincial
park's boundaries under the Ontario Provincial Park Act in 1950. Lac La Croix
reserve is offically called neguaguon Lake I. R. No. 25D.First Nation Detail
