Long Sault reserves No. 1 and No. 2 were surrendered in 1915 for settlement.  The original members of Long Sault comprised the band membership of Rainy Lake First Nation.   Long Sault reserves prior to 1915 were originally signees of the Northwest Angle Treaty in 1873 - Treaty No. 3.
