Non-Treaty Native Soldiers were enlisted without having official Indian status under Indian Act regulations prior to the war.  Under constitutional provisions, these people have Aboriginal right to either maintain Indian status or Metis status.  These people have contributed as much as other Aboriginal soldiers without listing for band membership, recieving constitutional Aboriginal status or treaty rights or title.
