The town of Schreiber is situated on the Trans-Canada Highway 17 and the Canadian Pacific Railway.  Schrieber resides on the north shore of Lake Superior.  It is approximately 40 kilometers to the west of Terrace Bay.  Schrieber was a railway town created by the local mining industry.  Schrieber has a population of approximately 1900.  Schrieber resides within the Robinson-Superior Treaty of 1850.
