Wabigoon is classified as two places, the Wabigoon Indian Reserve and the Town of Wabigoon. Veterans that enlisted into the Canadian forces came from this area near Dryden, Ontario. Also located in between the two is Dinorwic. There is a crossover of names from the three areas. The proximity of all three areas is only 13km, and only approximately 20 km from Dryden, Ontario.
Wabigoon is located within the boundaries described as the Northwest Angle Treaty of 1873 - Treaty No.3
Wabigoon and Eagle Lake were originally together as one large band. The reserve lands were confirmed by the Ontario government in 1915.
