General description:

  • Can reproduce in writing information received orally or visually.
  • Can write down everyday messages over the phone.
  • Can write a short coherent exploratory report on a relevant topic.
  • Can complete formatted texts of medium complexity (visually and contentwise).
  • Writes short letters and notes.
  • Linguistic means of expression remain simple, with frequent errors in accuracy and awkward sounding phrases, possibly "borrowings" from the first language (Ll).
  • Learner demonstrates better control over structure, vocabulary and the mechanics of writing when within the parameters of the text to be reproduced (rather than having to create text freely, from scratch).
