April and May

Watch the big drops tumbling down,
Making all the children frown;
How can little children play
When 'tis such an April day!
Neyer mind, my little lass,
April showers quickly pass;
They're like little people's tears -
Soon as shed, the sun appears!
Big drops, then a moment after,
Sunny rays and rippling laughter;
Smiles that chase the tears away-
Like a merry April day!
"Think of us, too, when 'tis wet,"
Say Bluebell and Violet;
"If 'twas not for April showers,
Where would be the sweet May flowers?"
