Early art can be seen in the area of Kejimkujik National Park. Once inhabited by the Mi'kmaq, this area has a beautiful display of petrographs carved into the many rock formations.

Art is still central to Mi'kmaq culture. Greg McEwan has maintained the traditions of his ancestors through basket weaving. Each step taken is done so with care and pride ensuring every basket is crafted in traditional form

Baskets "For centuries the Mi'kmaq have been weaving various materials through necessity. Our ash baskets are one of the many expressions of Indian Art. Each basket has it's own identity and no two are the same.

"Materials for our products come from hand-picked trees and are traditionally prepared. All baskets are made by hand with materials from the forest." Workshop
