The Sir John Franklin Mystery
Introduction
Sir John Franklin
Born 1786, died 1847
John Franklin had a long career as a naval officer, an explorer and an author. He fought in some of the most important sea battles of his time, and explored Australia and the Arctic. However, it is the terrible tragedy of his last expedition that still interests so many people.

Franklin wrote two accounts of his voyages, one covering the years 1819 to 1822; the second covering 1825 to 1827. Sadly, he never returned to write about his third voyage.
