LIA PAS DIANA PEACOCK BARBARA PELMANMICHAEL PENNY was born in Australia and educated at the Universities of Alberta and New Mexico. His poetry has appeared in 30 publications, most notably, The Malahat Review, Dandelion, Poetry Canada, The Globe and Mail, among others. He currently practices law in Edmonton; his other publications include articles on insurance and insolvency matters.

JOHN PICKERNELL, born in Toronto in 1966, has been writing poems, stories and songs since the late eighties. John’s poetry has a distinct urban backdrop and his poem, Helping Bobby close the shop, was winner of the 2003 Toronto Poetry Competition. He resides in Toronto with his wife and three sons.

SUZANNE ROBERTSONSTEPHEN RONEY was born in the wagon of a travelling show, near Gananoque, Ontario. Years ago, he graduated from Queen's University, also in Ontario. He went to Syracuse for postgraduate studies, not in Ontario. Past president of the Editors' Association of Canada, now teaching at Hoseo University, Korea, very far from Ontario. PAUL SANDERSON was born in 1954 in Toronto, Canada. He currently resides in Toronto and is a lawyer in private practice, with the law firm of Sanderson Taylor, which specializes in arts and entertainment law. He has studied poetry with Susan Ioannou and Rhea Tregebov at Ryerson Polytechnical University and is a member of the League of Canadian Poets. His poetry has been published in "The Tower", "Zygote" and "The White Wall Review" poetry journals. His first chapbook of poetry, "Biological Seasons", was published in 1996. He has participated in numerous poetry readings live and on radio. His  first full length book of poetry was published by Seraphim Editions in September of 2003. MATT SANTATERESA has a B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Toronto, and a Masters degree in English from Concordia University in Montréal where he currently lives and works. In addition to numerous poems, published in various literary magazines, he has also written prose and non-fiction.

DAVID SATHERLEY

KAREN SCHINDLER lives in London, Ontario. She is a part-time student at the University of Western Ontario and a co-director of the Poetry London Reading Series.

PAUL SERRALHEIRO, a native of Portugal, has lived in Canada since 1958. He presently freelances as a writer specializing in music and literature and teaches English at Dawson College. A published poet, he is also a guitarist and songwriter currently with a jazz band in Montréal.

APRIL A. SEVERIN is the author of five chapbooks and two websites. Her poems are widely published and 2 of them won Honourable Mention Awards in the The Ontario Poetry Society's Second Time Around Contest 2004. She also belongs to the Canadian Poetry Association, Hamilton Poetry Centre, and the Tower Poetry Society. April's future plans include a spoken word recording given that reading poetry is intergral to her life's work.

MICHAEL SHAIN was born in Toronto and attended the University of Toronto (BA), followed by Concordia University (MA) and the University of Windsor (LLB). He has lived on Manitoulin Island since 1990, where he is the Director of the Legal Clinic located on the Sucker Creek First Nations. He teaches the occasional Distance Education Course through Laurentian University and spends his free time in the bush, which is the inspiration for much of his poetry. TRISH SHIELDS is the parent of three children two girls ages 8 and 16, and a son who is 14. She had nearly completed her Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English, but parenthood intervened. Trish has a background in Fine Arts at the Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario. She has also studied creative writing under Matt Hughes, Canadian author of Fools Errant. Renaissance Alliance Publications, Inc. has published a book of her poetry entitled Soul Speak (www.www.rapbooks.biz). This book was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award for 2001. Trish has poetry published in an anthology by Hidden Brook Press, concerning the events of September 11, 2001, (timeoftrial.cjb.net). This publisher is featuring more of her work in a new anthology called Oval Victory. Dare2Dream will also be publishing a book of her poetry sometime in 2002-2003. Trish grew up in Europe and has traveled the United States and Canada extensively. She currently resides with her partner and children on Vancouver Island.

BARBARA SIMLER began writing poetry in the early 1990s, stopped for a period of six years, and started again in 1999. Her work has appeared in The Malahat Review, Grain,and other literary journals, and on CBC Radio's Alberta Anthology. Her poem "Dreamliner" received an honourable mention in the 2001 Prairie Fire poetry competition. She lives in Edmonton.

DOROTHY SJÖHOLM is a retired English teacher who lives and writes in Toronto. Her poems have appeared in anthologies and literary publications in Canada and the UK including Aesthetica, lichen, Open Window II, Renaissance Conspiracy, and Signatures. She has received awards from The Scarborough Arts Council, The Writers' Circle of Durham Region and The Ontario Poetry Society, and is currently shortlisted in lichen's "Tracking A Serial Poet Contest."

DIANA STOKES lives and writes in the historic and scenic Crowsnest Pass. Her poetry has appeared in trade publications, anthologies and literary journals. LYNN TAIT Born in Willowdale. Resides in Sarnia. Published in various journals and anthologies in Canada, the U.S and Australia, including Windsor Review, Carousel, Quills, Lichen, and Contemporary Verse 2. Has won numerous awards. Published a chapbook "Breaking Away" by Wine@Cheese Press in 2002.

KATHLEEN THERRIAULT

HILARY THOMPSON moved to Alberta from Scotland in 1965. Associate professor at Acadia University, her published poetry includes an illustrated children,s book Warm is a Circle (Lancelot, 1979) and Only So Far (Fiddlehead, 1982). Since then, she has published a number of poems, as well as articles on children,s literature. Her most recent book is Children,s Voices in Atlantic Literature and Culture (Canadian Children,s Press, 1995).

HEATHER TISDALE-NISBET was born in Ontario, in 1960. She graduated from McGill University in 1982 with a B.A. in History. Since then, she has held a variety of office jobs. Her poetry has appeared in such literary publications as Prophetic Voices, Whetstone, Tower Poetry, among others.

MARY TRAFFORD lives in Chelsea, Quebec. Her poetry is just beginning to "get out" and has made it into bywords (1995 and 2003), (muse)Letters (1996), CV2 (1998), ŽFeminist Flavours" (1998) and various chapbook projects. In 2002, she received the inaugural Diana Brebner Prize for Poetry, sponsored by Arc, Canada's National Poetry Magazine. trafford@magma.ca

EMMANUELLE VIVIER is a translator. She was born in Paris, France, but has lived in Canada for 20 years. Her work has also appeared in New Voices: An Anthology of New Canadian Poets. She is currently living on the Keweenaw Peninsula in Upper Michigan.

BARBARA WILLIAMS - My poetry (also poetry-related reviews, articles, interviews) has been published widely in Canada, US and Australia. My book, In Other Words. Interviews with Australian Poets, was published in 1998 (Rodopi Editions: Amsterdam and Atlanta). I was columnist on Australian poetry for from 1984-88. I give readings and visit schools. For me, poetry is an essential, vital, part of human experience.

CARLETON WILSON lives in the West Toronto Junction and is the publisher and general editor of Junction Books. He graduated from the University of Toronto in 2000 with a specialist BA in English Literature and was awarded the E. J. JOHN J. GUINEY YALLOP was born in Newfoundland and Labrador. John wrote poetry as a child and began publishing in the early eighties. His poems have appeared in several publications.  John is a PhD candidate at The University of Western Ontario where his doctoral research will involve writing poetry as data.  A poet researcher, John lives in Brampton with his partner and their daughter.
