There are a number of collecting localities scattered across the province. Petrified wood and agate materials are found mainly in the southwest, but also occur near Prince Albert and elsewhere. The southwest is fossil country. Dinosaur skeletons, including a complete T. rex have been found near Eastend. There are a few mineral localities as well. Gypsum rosettes occur near Swift Current. Other mineral localities occur in the Canadian Shield region in the northern part of the province and are more difficult to reach.
