The largest part of the collection consists of paper records. There are 320 cubic feet of materials including field notebooks, survey books and research notes. The map and drawing collections hold approximately 10,000 items, while the photographic collection includes 39,500 black and white images, and 23,000 slides.

The artifact collection catalog records consist of 51,676 file cards. These records are now maintained in electronic databases. The artifact collection database stores information about, and images of, all its artificats. The records of sites not yet excavated is maintained on a GIS (Geographic Information System) database.
