The Royal St. John's Regatta Committee takes it upon itself every
year to ensure the day of the races is organized well, officiated
properly, and, most importantly, enjoyed by all.
The Committee, like the Regatta, has an extensive history itself. It too follows a certain set of traditions. One of the oldest of these traditions is the requirement that one must be appointed in order to serve on the Committee. Another tradition is that a President may serve only two terms before stepping down. Prior to the mid-twentieth century, however, we do see Presidents serving for longer then two years. It is without a doubt a position of distinction in the City of St. John's. |
We wish to acknowledge all those over the years who have made the Royal St. John's Regatta a wonderful event enjoyed by many. We recognize the hard work and effort made by everyone in the preparation and execution of the Royal St. John's Regatta.
