Severe malaria in Canadian travellers

Over the last decade the number of cases of drug-resistant and severe malaria in Canadian travellers and in visitors to Canada has increased markedly. In this issue, Kevin Kain and colleagues report 7 deaths due to falciparum malaria (page 654).
