The Charlotte Austin Review is a new site on the Internet, a spin-off of The Quill Magazine Quarterly (thequill.com) which closed in September 1999. It will primarily feature an extensive book review section in a number of categories, and will include interviews with authors and publishers, selected short fiction from emerging writers, and Reflections, thoughts on the writing life from published authors.

Our mission is to bring you reviews of bestsellers, best-loved books and lesser-known books by emerging writers and authors around the world. Some of you will recognize this purpose from thequill.com, a site that specifically encouraged beginning writers. With The Charlotte Austin Review, we aim yet higher and raise the standard we had set, to that of encouraging writers at all stages of their careers, by honoring their work in progress and their published masterpieces.

I hope you will join us on this inspirational journey and quest for writing excellence.
