Use Direct Service to order documents from the scientific, technical and medical information in NRC-CISTI's collection, and agricultural information from our partner, the Canadian Agriculture Library (CAL). Documents from the collections of NRC-CISTI's Asian Partners  can also be ordered using the Direct level of service.

Ninety percent of Direct Service orders are processed in 24 hours; more than half are processed on the same business day.

Loans and renewals

Books and some conference proceedings may be borrowed for a six week period. To renew an item, you need to borrow it again. The quickest way to renew your loan is to go to the NRC-CISTI Catalogue, find the online record for the item and resubmit your order. Specify loan extension request in Special Instructions.

NRC-CISTI does not normally lend periodicals, reference materials, freelance translations, microforms or rare books.
