Projects
The
following projects were all initiated by various Canadian libraries and
librarians, with encouragement and funding from LibraryNet or other Industry
Canada programs.
- Kids got
a fresh look at books and reading when they visited the Calgary
Public Library's 1997 Summer
Reading Game on the Internet (item no longer available). Funding for the Summer Reading Game
was provided by a SchoolNet grant, and an intern hired under an Industry
Canada grant developed the Web site.
- A Web
Page Evaluation Tool, a PURL
service, and Expanding
Universe, a guide to astronomy resources on the web, were all developed
by students at the Metropolitan Toronto Reference Library (items no longer available).
- The University
of Guelph's McLaughlin Library produced an Index
to Canadian Children's
Literature (a bilingual journal of criticism and review covering
Canadian books and other media for children and young adults).
