  • When asked “If your library is currently unable to implement any upgrades is it for any of the following reasons?” the most common responses were:

    • Lack of funding (49% of respondents)
    • Waiting for Local carrier/ISP to upgrade existing infrastructure (22% of respondents)
  • 229 branches nationwide (14.5%) report that they incur long distance charges when connecting to the internet

    • 37/59 in New Brunswick (63%)
    • 91/311 in Saskatchewan (29%)
    • 23/102 in Manitoba (23%)
    • 25/122 in Alberta (21%)
