253 (1996) Located on the arm of the Peninsula which separates Trinity and Conception Bays, Grates Cove is the most northerly community on the Avalon Peninsula, situated within the confines of Trinity Bay. The residents have always had strong religious affiliations. Until recently,
majority of Grates Cove residents worked in the cod fishery. Residents
have also engaged in subsistence farming.
