1857 – Upper Small Point (now Kingston) has 104 residents. One resident was born in England and one in Ireland. All but one of the residents are Roman Catholics.

1871 – The population is 114. Some family names include: Clares, Faheys, Hurleys, Kirbys, Shorts, Southwells and Traverses.

1935 – The population decreases to139.

1951 – The population of Kingston is 159.
